Q - Do you not think it would be fairer to only have speed restrictions and cameras in place at key times of the day?
A - Research has shown that the chances of having a road accident actually doubles at night time, especially during early evening and in the early hours of the morning. It is much simpler to have one rule for all that applies at all times of the day. There are no restrictions to say pedestrians are not allowed to cross the roads at certain times, so we must always be driving slow enough to stop if someone steps out.

Q - Why do you put speed cameras on straight roads, surely it is more dangerous to speed on bends and corners?
A - Speed cameras are only ever located at areas which have had a high number of serious collisions in the past few years. Similarly, a camera will only be used as a last resort, where no other form of engineering will slow motorists down.
